My fall beauty essentials

So, the fall is almost over and I keep replaying Have yourself a merry little Christmas in my head more and more often. Even though I truly cannot resist all those early Christmassy feelings, I decided that I’ll do my best and enjoy the last days of fall to the fullest. And because I’ve always been interested in all things beauty, I cannot imagine a better blog post topic to end this season than the one about my beauty essentials I used all fall and probably will be using in the winter as well.

This season added some products to my collection that I could never imagine I’ll ever be using. And I won’t be lying – I’m so proud of myself, my job and all the hustle I was able to spoil myself this way. And I’m grateful for that.

In makeup I prefer simplicity and currently my favorite makeup look is the no makeup makeup. I focus on the skin, which I like to unify with the Studio Fix Foundation by MAC. It stays on the whole day making the skin look perfect but still natural. My other choice would be the Chanel Ultra Le Tient Velvet which truly surprised me with its natural coverage that stays matte on my combination to oily skin without any powder and leaves a lovely velvety smooth skin. Another one is the MAC Face & Body Foundation for super natural look with almost no to very little coverage but awesome unified skin color which I adore so much! At the end I also don’t forget to add some structure and color to the skin with MAC Studio Fix Sculpt and Shape contour palette in Light.

However, if I feel like it, I love to add some warm fall color to it. For that purpose I LOVE to use the MAC Art Library palette in Flame-boyant or Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics palette for some nice smoky eye.
I don’t use lipstick that much because of a face mask, however if I feel like it, my go to choices are Dior Backstage lip palette in Universal Neutrals, Essence Colour Boost liquid lipstick in Mad Matters or MAC matte lipsticks in Sin or Velvet Teddy (which was also my wedding lip color, by the way).

For brows I always use the 24-hour Brow Setter by Benefit and if I need it (read: if I don’t have my brows done from the Benefit brow bar) I also use MAC Eye Brow Styler in Stylized together with the Shape + Shade Brow Tint in Taupe. I like to wear my brows bold and fluffy and this product combo is my holy grail I absolutely swear by!

Last but not least, for my lashes I choose the Too Faced Better Than Sex waterproof mascara and for every product that needs to be applied with a brush, I use my Zoeva brushes that I’ve had forever (but all of them are still in a perfect condition! One of the best beauty investments I’ve made so far).

More than makeup, however, I care about my skin. First of all I want it to be clear, smooth and moisturized. For that I use the MAC cleansing oil as my first step at night and the CeraVe Foaming Cleanser as the second step (or the first step in the morning) of cleansing my face. Then I use some exfoliating toner (currently I have one by Alcina) and wait for about 4-5 minutes before applying a serum. I like to use Lancôme Advanced Génifique occasionally, not every day to be honest, and then I moisturize. I like to alternate my moisturizers and my current favorites are Weleda Iris day cream and Shiseido Essential Energy Day Emulsion with SPF 20.
For the night I like to use the Créme De La Mer or some oil – Weleda Pomegranate facial oil or Rose oil ampoules.

When I feel like it, I also use my gua sha plate to do a gentle face massage with one of the oils and I also love to use my Foreo Luna 3 (you can read my review HERE).
As a special treatment I also use facemasks. Lot of them! It’s either a clay wash off mask or some Korean sheet mask and it usually depends on my mood.

For the skin on the rest of my body I use some nice scented shower gel – Dermacol Belgian Chocolate & Orange or The Body Shop Vanilla Pumpkin as well as a body butter of the same scent. I like to alternate it with Weleda sea buckthorn body milk or body oil from the same line which I use for the second fall in a row. A must have for me is a multiuse face & body cream from a Czech brand Havlíkova apotéka – Havlíkův přírodní zázrak (translated as Havlik’s natural miracle) which truly is a miracle for my atopic eczema or any kind of irritation or small wound.

Last but not least – my hair. This is something I fight with for my whole life and I still didn’t find any other hairstyle that would make me feel comfortable with my hair than a high bun (which, honestly, isn’t the healthiest choice for your hair and scalp to wear long term). And I know that this isn’t only me. Lot of curly girls and women tend to wear this simple yet functional hairstyle to tame all the curls living their own life. That doesn’t mean we don’t like to take care of it.
I love to use all the nourishing and curl defining products that give my hair a lovely bounce. I wash my hair with a anti-dandruff shampoo (how did I even deserve all this?!) and then I continue with the treatment and styling products. My current fave is Wella Nutricurls hair mask which leaves my hair super soft, smooth, easy to brush (in-shower, ofc) and perfectly defined. I also like the Weleda Oat hair conditioner and hair mask, which are very good too even though they are not specifically curl focused.
After washing my hair I continue with Alverde 2 in 1 balm which you can use in shower as a wash off care and also for damp hair as a leave in treatment and styling product as I do.
And for my last step I like to use the Orofluido Original Elixir hair oil for some extra nutrition, smoothness and shine.

So, that’s it for today. For one of my following blog posts you can look forward to learning about my most favorite signature fragrances which I obviously also use during this season so stay tuned if you are interested!

What are your beauty essentials you cannot live without?
